As Michigan residents, we are all involved in electoral politics at some level. With elections coming up, we want to better understand the kinds of political projects our membership hopes GEO will be involved in. Fill out our quick 5-minute survey.

Not Teaching This Term? Consider Solidarity Dues

If you’re not teaching this semester, did you know you can help keep GEO strong by contributing Solidarity Dues? All graduate students and many other employees at U-M benefit from the strong contract GEO has negotiated over the past several decades. By contributing Solidarity Dues in the semesters you are not employed as a GSI or GSSA, you help ensure that GEO can continue to fight for a more equitable campus community. Donate now!

Do you want to fight for fair working conditions, equity and access in higher education, and a more democratic university? Consider running for a leadership position in GEO! Learn more at our Election Information Meeting on March 21, 7-9pm.

Support UIUC GEO Strike

After going over 190 days without a new contract, graduate students at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have been on strike since February 26. Consider helping striking workers at UIUC win the fair contract that they deserve, you can donate to their Strike Fund here. We need monetary resources to stay out and win. Our members need your financial support, if possible, to stay on the picket lines and demonstrate that the University only works because we do

Want to Talk to Students About LEO?
Lecturers at  University of Michigan campuses are currently bargaining for a new contract that would provide them with the respect and economic stability befitting their essential contributions to education on campus. You can attend open bargaining in Ann Arbor on Friday, March 16 starting at 10am on the 4th floor of Palmer Commons. To talk to students about why lecturers working conditions matter and how students can support their efforts, consider sharing this 4-minute slideshow with students in class or through Canvas.
