GEO-backed candidates for RSG have pledged to:
Represent graduate students in my area in regard to academic issues and other concerns
Work with representatives from other areas of the university to reach consensus on issues affecting graduate students
Work alongside my colleagues in the MSA and GEO to provide unified opposition to legislation that harms either the academic strength of U of M or worsens the quality of life of students
Encourage the university to both recognize the right of graduate students to collectively bargain and remain neutral in any such campaign
Minimize the operational costs of RSG; in particular, the cost of food at RSG meetings
Continue RSG’s long history of providing social events that bring together graduate students from all fields
Ensure that the RSG website is updated regularly with a full set of minutes
Continue to follow the implementation of continuous enrollment and its impact on graduate students
Work with GEO to hold joint departmental meetings that may cover both employment issues (GEO) and academic issues (RSG)
Improve the election process by providing a clear set of election rules and hiring the election director at an earlier date
