In the face of such an important election as the one on November 6, 2012, GEO is encouraging members to make voter registration forms available in the classroom. We are encouraging this because funding for higher education, the direction of the university’s priorities, and our right to collective bargaining, will be impacted by the results of this election.
Instructions for registering students to vote:
- Download our Voter Registration ToolKit. Review the FAQ and the sample voter registration form which has the necessary fields highlighted. Print out the last page of the tool kit which is the actual voter registration form.
- Swap classes with a colleague. Have your colleague come into your classroom and deliver the presentation, while you do the same in their classroom. If you can’t find a colleague to pair up with, contact GEO at umgeo@umich.edu and we will help you.
- Return the filled out registration forms to GEO at 330 East Liberty St., Suite 3F, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
- The deadline to register people to vote is October 6th. Return the forms to GEO HQ well in advance.
